recyling app
App Design | UX UI Design | Product Design
For a product design class called Design Thinking and Analysis, we were tasked with designing a product and an accompanying UX/UI element to help solve a problem currently affecting a number of people in the city of Philadelphia. I was placed in a group of four and was responsible for the UX/UI portion of the project.
Our problem statement was: plastic bottles are often littered because convenient recycling options aren’t always available. We asked, how might we make recycling more convenient, incentivize environmentally friendly behavior, and give people who aren’t environmentally conscious more reason to recycle?
Our solution was a more convenient reverse recycling machine paired with a mobile game app that makes recycling more fun and enjoyable. The app is organized into four sections:
Map: locations
Play: game and streaks
Rewards: points and coupons
Account: profile and money tracking
Everything was designed in Figma, and a working prototype is available to try out.
